Job summary

ADF is seeking painters to work on iconic construction projects. The role covers painting, coating, and touch-ups on steel parts, with emphasis on safety and precision.

Training and progression opportunities are available, and the team operates on day and evening shifts to meet project timelines. Applicants should have vocational training in industrial painting or equivalent experience, fluency in French, and the ability to work with spray equipment and lifting devices.

Qualifications

• Attestation/ diploma in industrial painting required or equivalent.
• Apprentice or helper grades accepted with relevant experience.
• French language spoken; safety-minded with knowledge of health standards.

Responsibilities

• Paint and touch up steel parts according to shop drawings.
• Mix coatings and adjust spray equipment pressure.
• Load materials following safety guidelines.
• Keep work area clean; follow health and safety rules.
• Use lifting equipment; meet project requirements and standards.
• Observe good practice codes for safe coating applications.
• Identify and protect products supplied by customers.
• Contribute to minimizing paint losses and optimizing resources.
• Perform related tasks as needed.

Job description

• Monday to Friday from 6 :00 a.m. to 14:30 p.m

Evening Shift (Monday to Thursday):

• Monday to Thursday, from 14 :30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Hourly wage ranging from $27.52/hour to $38.75/hour and Evening shift premium: $1.75/hour

Contributing in this role means:

• Meeting project requirements and applicable standards;
• Optimizing manpower/resources and reducing paint losses;
• Respecting coating application procedures and using the right forms;
• Ensure that identification of all products supplied by customers is maintained/protected throughout operations;
• Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with “good practice” codes regarding the safe application of coatings, and in compliance with Company procedures;
• Keep work area clean and safe;
• Observe the Company's occupational health and safety rules;
• Paint, mask and/or touch up steel parts according to shop drawings;
• Mix coatings and/or paint for steel parts;
• Select and adjust pressure of spraying equipment;
• Use lifting equipment such as hoists or overhead cranes;
• Any other related task.

What we are looking for

• Attestation of Vocational Studies (A.V.S.) in industrial painting AND/OR
• Painter - apprentice grade: 2,000 hours worked as a painter - helper grade, or Diploma of Vocational Studies (D.V.S.) in industrial painting;
• Painter - helper grade: Secondary school diploma (D.E.S.) with or without A.E.P. in industrial painting and relevant experience.
• French language spoken;
• Knowledge of best practices for loading materials in compliance with occupational health and safety principles;
• Pneumatic controls and airless paint pumps;
• Knowledge of coating equipment;
• Teamwork, adaptability and initiative;
• Manual dexterity and attention to detail;
• Asset: knowledge of SSPC standards.
