Job summary

AAA Canada Inc. in Laval, Quebec is seeking an Aircraft Painter to join a day-shift team. You will paint surfaces, perform preparation and finishing tasks, and ensure quality according to work instructions.

The role requires specialized training in aircraft painting or an equivalent certificate and about 2 years of industrial painting experience, ideally in aerospace. Bilingual French and English, strong responsibility and discipline are essential.

Responsibilities

• Paint repaired surfaces following work instructions.
• Perform visual inspection to ensure quality and compliance; correct as needed.
• Surface preparation: cleaning, priming, stripping, sanding, masking.
• Trace reference lines to identify masking areas and decal placement.
• Apply finish coats with spray gun and position decals.
• Spray primer and finish coats on parts or assemblies.
• Perform touch-ups as needed.
• Choose paints or mixtures using automatic mixers per formulas.
• Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, and prepare objects.
• Use spray guns to apply coatings; paint small objects with a brush.
• Maintain painting equipment and PPE.
• Prepare and apply stencils/decals when applicable.
• Perform other related tasks.

Job offer: Aircraft Painter
Location: Laval (Quebec)
Company: AAA Canada (mandate for a major player in aeronautics)
Type: Full-time, day shift

Responsibilities

• Paint repaired surfaces following work instructions rigorously;
• Perform visual inspection of components and ensure the quality and compliance of the work, making required corrections as needed;
• Perform surface preparation operations such as cleaning, priming, stripping, sanding, and masking;
• Trace reference lines on part surfaces using templates or drawings to identify areas to mask and determine color distribution and the placement of decals and symbols;
• Apply different finish coats on interior or exterior surfaces using a paint spray gun and position decals;
• Apply primer and finish coats by spraying paint, varnish, enamel lacquer, or polyurethane on manufactured parts or assemblies;
• Perform touch-ups, modifications, or touch-ups;
• Choose the appropriate paint or correct paint mixture using automatic paint mixers according to pre-established formulas;
• Operate the equipment necessary to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove rust, fill hollows, or prepare objects to be painted or coated with lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings;
• Operate hand-held spray guns to apply protective or decorative coatings on parts;
• Paint small objects and perform touch-ups with a brush;
• Clean and maintain painting and coating equipment, compressed air ventilation, and personal protective equipment;
• Prepare and apply, where applicable, stencils, computer-generated decals, and other decorative objects on finished products;
• Perform any other related task normally assigned.

Profile sought

• You hold specialized training, a certificate, or a college diploma in aircraft painting or the equivalent;
• You have 2 years of experience in industrial painting, ideally in the aerospace industry;
• You know how to use and adjust the tools necessary for the work, notably the paint spray gun and automatic paint mixers;
• You have knowledge of aeronautical specifications and applicable procedures;
• You have the ability to read and interpret blueprints;
• You are recognized for your sense of responsibility, punctuality, and discipline;
• You are bilingual (French and English).
