Job summary

Tayco is a modern office furniture manufacturer seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright to join our Maintenance Team in Ontario. The role focuses on analyzing and troubleshooting electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and fabricating equipment to meet new production needs.

Qualified candidates have 433A certification, 5+ years of maintenance experience, and solid mechanical/electrical aptitude.

Qualifications

• 433A Millwright certification is required.
• Minimum five years in a similar maintenance role in wood/metal manufacturing.
• Experience in machining and/or equipment operations.
• Strong English reading/writing and instruction-following abilities.
• Read and follow health, safety and environmental procedures (WHMIS/OSHA).
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and handle awkward positions safely.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and structures.
• Modify and fabricate equipment to fit production needs.
• Work with team to avoid production delays and improve uptime.
• Adhere to safety procedures and participate in weekly meetings.

Job description

Tayco is looking for one enthusiastic individual to join our Maintenance Team as an Industrial Millwright. The Industrial Millwright will have the opportunity to analyze and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in equipment, diagnose, and correct problems in a timely manner to avoid production delays. The successful candidate will perform scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned machinery, equipment, and structures and will be required to modify and fabricate equipment to fit new production requirements.

• Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A) certification is required.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar manufacturing maintenance role, preferably in wood or metal manufacturing.
• Possess experience in industrial maintenance and/or repairs in any of the following areas: machining, and/or equipment operations.
• Is able to understand, speak, read and write English. Must be able to understand verbal and written work instructions and, in some situations, document them as accuracy and attention to detail is necessary. In addition, must be able to read and understand health and safety procedures, document work, train others, problem solve in teams, learn new work processes, and participate in continuous learning and weekly team meetings in English.
• Must have a strong mechanical / electrical aptitude and mathematical skills.
• Is knowledgeable of manufacturing processes to include but not limited to CNC, Brake Press, Welding, and assembly fixtures.
• Is able to work with minimal supervision.
• Detail orientated and is able to detect errors that would cause disruption in service, damage to equipment, monetary loss, or some loss in prestige or program value, and could affect the work of other departments.
• Is able to understand and follow established personal safety, security, and environmental practices. Is knowledgeable of, and compliant with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and Occupation Health and Safety Act (OSHA) as well as other applicable laws and codes.
• Is able to lift materials up to 50 pounds and to carry, move, manipulate and/or position them and to move, bend, twist or maintaining awkward body positions while performing work.
• Hours: 6:30am to 3:00pm
• Pay Rate: $44.18/hour.
