Job description
The Opportunity

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, the Millwright is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing processing equipment, ensuring efficient repair and replacement results. The Millwright performs preventive maintenance, handles work orders, accounts for inventory and labor, and adheres to all plant Food/Health and Safety policies.

  • Troubleshooting and repairing processing equipment with electrical knowledge.
  • Completing oral/electronic work requests in a timely fashion.
  • Applying corrections based on mechanical requirements.
  • Performing preventive maintenance, regular work orders, and inventory management.
  • Welding repairs and fabrication of equipment parts to Food Safety Standards.
  • Reading and understanding mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Machining and fabricating equipment repair and upgrades.
  • Communicating daily repair activity with the Maintenance Team and Production.
  • Inputting notes, labor hours, and parts used into the plant’s SAP computerized maintenance system.
What You’ll Bring
  • Ability to work Sunday to Thursday: 10pm to 6:30am or Sunday to Thursday 12:00am to 08:30am shift.
  • Experience in poultry processing or food production an asset.
  • Journeyman Red Seal Certificate holder for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Accustomed to working with an SAP based computerized maintenance and inventory reporting system.
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  • Self‑directed, motivated team player open to new technology with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a high‑pressure production environment.
  • Strength and stamina required to lift heavy equipment weighing in excess of 25 kilograms.
  • Must have a full complement of personal/professional hand tools identified specifically for the Food Safety program.
