Job summary

Norda Stelo is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and implement mechanical equipment for client projects in the Saguenay region. The role covers site surveys, calculations, tolerances, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.

You will perform FEA simulations, refine concepts, and prepare detailed engineering documents while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Proficiency in French and English is required, along with 3–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is required or in process.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
• Experience with FEA software is an asset.
• Proficiency with drafting/design software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Gather information regarding clients’ needs
• Validate and develop innovative technical solutions and concepts tailored to client needs
• Participate in the design of mechanical equipment, including site surveys, drawings, calculations, component and material selection, verifications, and other design activities
• Perform numerical analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA) simulations
• Participate in preparing engineering plans, specifications, reports, and other documents
• Apply best practices in design
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders
• Monitor the quality of engineering work and project execution
• Supervise equipment installation and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in effect at Norda Stelo and at client sites
• Perform any other related duties consistent with the primary responsibilities described above

Requirements

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
• Have 3 to 5 years of experience
• Proficiency with finite element analysis software is an asset
• Proficiency with drafting and design software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Interest in emerging technologies, including Industry 4.0
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated initiative and autonomy
• Strong time-management and prioritization skills
• Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
