Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited in Saint-Leonard, NB, is seeking an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for our sawmill. You will install, maintain, and repair equipment in a fast-paced production environment while performing welding and preventive maintenance. Shift work, including weekends, may be required.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in industry, a Bloc 1+ Industrial Mechanics diploma, and Red Seal is an asset. French language ability is preferred to support our bilingual team and site operations.

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanics diploma (Bloc 1 or higher) required.
• 2–5 years of experience in an industrial environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Sawmill experience is an asset.
• Ability to communicate in French.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical and industrial equipment in a production environment.
• Perform SMAW and FCAW welding in all positions.
• Troubleshoot, repair, assemble, and conduct preventive maintenance on machines.
• Repair or replace chains, belt conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and more using electronic tools.
• Identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
