Position Title: Industrial Mechanic Millwright

Location: Mississauga, ON (fulltime onsite position)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic Millwright to join our team in Mississauga. This skilled role is responsible for the installation, alignment, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of all stationary industrial machinery, equipment (including conveyors, pumps, and generators), and plant systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC controls). This role also requires a strong foundation in general facility maintenance (HVAC, electrical, and plumbing).

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks to position machinery and parts during the installation, set‑up and repair of machinery.
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install and troubleshoot vacuum, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery and plant systems.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools.
  • Assemble and install equipment such as drive motors, gearboxes, belts, gravity conveyors, platforms, and other types of industrial equipment.
  • Repair and overhaul mechanical systems and replace and align moving parts as required.
  • Set up and adjust complex machinery.
  • Analyze information to perform maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication of machinery, troubleshooting, test running and proper operation of machines.
  • Confer with management to recommend equipment changes and modifications and evaluate new equipment.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Maintenance Technician diploma or equivalent, Millwright license highly desired.
  • 5 years of experience in general building maintenance and machine repairs.
  • A strong understanding of trades (HVAC, painting, carpentry, drywall, electrical, plumbing) is required, along with knowledge of preventive and demand maintenance.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools.
  • Physical ability to repeatedly lift, push, and pull up to 99lb, as well as stand, bend, kneel, climb, and stretch for long periods of time.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, operate proactively, be reliable and attention to detail.
  • Strong people skills, excellent common sense, decision‑making abilities, and working in a team atmosphere.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
