Industrial Engineering Technician

NEXT is a manufacturer of PVC pipes and its application is used in all sorts of infrastructure projects (sewer, drainage, aqueduct, electrical conduits, etc.). Our plant was the first PVC pipe extrusion facility in Canada.

Job Title: Industrial Engineering Technician

Terms of Employment: Full-time, permanent. 40 hours per week.

Compensation: $40.81 per hour based on a biweekly schedule of 40 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Continuing quality improvements within the QA department
  • Assisting with factory audits
  • Monitoring Internal and External claims while ensuring continued and improved production quality
  • Updating the QA Manual and making sure that all quality reports/forms are being completed
  • Monitoring all levels of compound / regrind blends and advising of discrepancies
  • Quality assurance testing of PVC compound, regrind and final products
  • Assisting in all material trials and monitoring levels of compound/regrind giving advice of any discrepancies
  • Calibrating and maintaining of all measuring instruments and equipment
  • Ensuring high standards of housekeeping is maintained and adherence to health and safety policies
  • Other related tasks

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of post-secondary certificate in industrial engineering required

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years work experience in industrial engineering technology or a related field
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience with continuous quality improvement and policy management
  • Experience in manufacturing processes
  • Good knowledge of key industrial engineering concepts
