Job summary

Owens-Illinois Brampton plant is seeking an Industrial Electrician to maintain all electrical equipment, plant machinery, structures, and components. The role includes troubleshooting circuits, repairing equipment, maintaining PLCs, and ensuring safety through electrical isolation.

The candidate should have a current Industrial Electrician Red Seal license (442a or 309a), 2+ years in heavy manufacturing, and be able to work a rotating shift in Canada.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Industrial Electrician 442a or Construction & Maintenance 309a Red Seal license.
• Must have at least 2 years of work experience as an electrician in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule, with holiday and weekend requirements.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot, trace, and test circuits.
• Repair and install electrical or electronic equipment and components.
• Modify, maintain and install PLC programs.
• Perform electrical isolation of equipment for safety while minimizing interference to operations.
• Advise operators, mechanics and other maintenance personnel on SOPs and requirements for electrical equipment and controls.

Job Description

The Industrial Electrician will maintain all electrical equipment in the facility, including the plant machinery, structures, and component parts on which work is being performed.

The Industrial Electricianwill:

• Analyze and interpret one lines, wiring diagrams, sketches and diagrams to select a logistical approach to troubleshooting, tracing, and testing circuits
• Repair and install electrical or electronic equipment and component parts
• Modify, maintain and install PLC programs
• Perform electrical isolation of equipment for safety of self and others, while minimizing interference to operations
• Advise operators, mechanics and other electrical maintenance personnel of standard operating procedures and requirements for electrical equipment and controls

The Industrial Electrician should have:

• Strong knowledge of electrical principles and wiring specification codes
• Strong working knowledge of PLCs, electronic drive systems, power distribution equipment, phase motors (single and 3 phase), control instrumentation and VFDs
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have a current Industrial Electrician 442aor Construction & Maintenance 309a Red Seal license
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate using English language
• Must have at least 2 years work experience as an electrician in a heavy manufacturing/industrial environment
• Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule, with holiday and weekend requirements

Additional Information

Hourly Wage: The hourly wage for this position is $47.39
