Job summary

ProSlide Technology Inc. is seeking a hands-on Product Design Engineer to advance complex 3D surface geometry for large-scale FRP water ride systems.

The role focuses on CAD surface modeling and manufacturable design, translating ride geometries into production-ready components that meet safety and fabrication requirements. Based in our Ottawa head office, you will own surface development, collaborate with fabrication teams, produce detailed drawings and data packages, and support field

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of product design experience with a focus on 3D CAD surface modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS surfacing tools (or equivalent CAD surfacing).
• Ability to use AutoCAD and knowledge of blocks.
• Experience creating complex, non-prismatic geometry.
• Strong understanding of translating designs into physical products.

Responsibilities

• Own the development of complex 3D surface models for waterslide components.
• Create high-quality, continuous surfaces suitable for large-scale fiberglass structures.
• Develop and refine geometry for long, continuous ride paths and complex transitions.
• Ensure surface quality, continuity, and alignment across multi-part assemblies.
• Design components with a strong understanding of fiberglass manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure production-ready designs.
• Produce detailed part drawings and technical data packages (TDPs).
• Maintain accurate and organized design evolution documentation within PDM systems.
• Deliver product design documentation through ProSlide’s Product Development Process.
• Contribute across all stages of product development—from concept refinement through to product installation on site.
• Develop and execute test plans for prototype and production components.
• Analyze test results and drive iterative design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews with a focus on technical feasibility and performance.
• Travel internationally as required (up to 15%).

Join ProSlide’s Product Development Team in a highly technical, hands-on product design role focused on the development of complex 3D surface geometry for large-scale fiberglass (FRP) water ride systems. This position is centered on advanced CAD surface modeling and manufacturable design, with responsibility for translating complex ride geometries into production-ready components that meet performance, safety, and fabrication requirements. This position requires strong surface modeling expertise and a deep understanding of how designs are built in the real world. Your work will directly contribute to attractions enjoyed by millions of guests worldwide, with real-world impact on safety, performance, and guest experience.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Surface Modeling & Geometry Development

• Own the development of complex 3D surface models for waterslide components.
• Create high-quality, continuous surfaces (A-class or equivalent) suitable for large-scale fiberglass structures.
• Develop and refine geometry for long, continuous ride paths and complex transitions.
• Ensure surface quality, continuity, and alignment across multi-part assemblies.

Design for Manufacturability (Fiberglass / FRP)

• Design components with a strong understanding of fiberglass manufacturing processes.
• Application of manufacturability considerations such as part splitting, draft angles and flange design
• Collaborate with fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical, efficient, and production-ready.

Production Design & Technical Documentation

• Produce detailed part drawings and technical data packages (TDPs).
• Maintain accurate and organized design evolution documentation within PDM systems.
• Deliver product design documentation through ProSlide’s Product Development Process.

Product Development & Validation

• Contribute across all stages of product development—from concept refinement through to product installation on site.
• Develop and execute test plans for prototype and production components.
• Analyze test results and drive iterative design improvements.
• Participate in design reviews with a focus on technical feasibility and performance.

Field Support

• Participate in on-site installation and product verification activities.
• Ensure that manufactured components meet design intent and performance expectations.
• Travel internationally as required (up to 15%).

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

Core Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in product design with a strong focus on 3D CAD surface modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in SOLIDWORKS surfacing tools (or equivalent CAD surfacing platforms).
• Ability to use AutoCAD and knowledge of blocks.
• Demonstrated experience creating complex, non-prismatic geometry (not simple mechanical parts).
• Strong understanding of how designs translate into physical products.

Preferred Experience

• Experience designing fiberglass (FRP) parts and their associated production tools.
• Familiarity with tooling, molds, or fabrication processes.
• Experience working on large-scale physical products
• Hands-on experience with prototyping and physical validation.
