A leading engineering company in Port Hope is looking for an Industrial Controls Technician to support production through troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in a heavy manufacturing environment and experience with Allen Bradley systems. Overview

Industrial Controls Technician – Weir ESCO, Port Hope, ON (onsite).

Purpose of Role: The Industrial Controls Technician will provide support to production by troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production equipment according to all safety legislation and safety rules. The Industrial Controls Technician will be expected to diagnose equipment malfunction, determine root cause and initiate immediate and long-term corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calibrate, commission, configure, install, and troubleshoot all pneumatic, electronic, electrical, mechanical, and analytical instrumentation devices.
  • Calibrate and repair analytical instruments that monitor or control variables such as flow, level, temperature, pressure, acidity, conductivity, and humidity.
  • Inspect malfunctioning or damaged equipment to identify the root cause of issues and report findings to Maintenance.
  • Develop and design control systems logic.
Job Knowledge, Education and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley is required; experience with Emerson is considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for candidates who can demonstrate the ability to meet the objectives outlined above.
