Job summary

A community support organization in Northwestern Ontario seeks Helpline Crisis Workers to provide emotional and crisis support to Indigenous women. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree, strong counseling skills, and cultural sensitivity. The position involves working 40 hours per week with rotating shifts and may require knowledge of Indigenous languages. Competitive hourly compensation at $22.41/hr offered.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in an Indigenous organization preferred.
  • Ability to speak Ojibway, Oji-Cree or Cree is an asset.
  • Excellent computer and database entry skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional and crisis support to Anishinabe women.
  • Utilize teachings of the medicine wheel and cultural practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to organizational standards.
