Job description

The Sudbury Catholic District School Board is in Northeastern Ontario and serves approximately 6,900 students in 17 schools located in Greater Sudbury, as well as in Killarney.
Our School Board is host to and celebrates diverse cultures and is comprised of dedicated staff committed to high-quality education that inspires and promotes lifelong learning. The Board is currently seeking an Indigenous Support Worker to join our dynamic and innovating team. Under the direction of the Superintendent of Education and the Principal, the Indigenous Support Worker will assist in planning, preparing, and facilitating Indigenous youth programming that will increase Indigenous students’ sense of cultural pride, self-esteem, and sense of belonging. The Indigenous Support Worker will also contribute to developing an awareness and appreciation of contemporary and traditional First Nation, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) traditions, cultures and perspectives for all learners and staff.
As a member of the school team, the Indigenous Support Worker will play a crucial role in supporting Indigenous youth’s mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health and support graduation success.
