Job summary

The National Ctr. for Truth & Reconciliation at the University of Manitoba seeks an MCP Research Lead - Tech 5 (AESES) for a new grant-funded project.

This full-time role requires strong leadership, Indigenous research methods, and experience directing archival research teams. You will manage a high-performing team, coordinate with stakeholders, oversee documentation, and ensure ethical handling of sensitive data.

Qualifications

  • Master’s level in a related discipline with experience or a related professional degree with substantial experience.
  • Experience with Indigenous history and Indigenous methodologies is preferred.
  • Project management certification (PMP) would be an asset.
  • Education and experience can be combined as equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate in-depth archival research using multiple databases and staff.
  • Oversee research projects, manage staff performance, and ensure documentation.
  • Engage with Indigenous communities, Survivors, Elders, and partners.
  • Prepare status reports, manage budgets, and coordinate vendor services.
  • Foster trauma-informed, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
