Job summary

City of Vancouver is seeking Activity Leaders to plan, implement and evaluate Indigenous programming and a range of cultural, recreational, educational, and social activities at the Gathering Place. Positions require engagement with Downtown South residents and a commitment to culturally relevant programming.

You will supervise and lead groups, assist staff with drop-in programs and events, and help with publicity, safety, and basic first aid as needed.

Qualifications

• Education as specified (Grade 10) or equivalent and related experience.
• Experience working with diverse community groups is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, implement, and participate in Indigenous programming for Downtown South residents.
• Lead group activities and provide basic instruction to develop social skills.
• Plan, promote, implement and supervise drop-in programs and special events.
• Prepare publicity and provide information and referrals to patrons regarding community services.
• Ensure centre equipment and facilities are maintained and safety standards are followed.
