Shared Health is seeking an Indigenous Health Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to Indigenous Health programs and services at Health Sciences Centre. The role emphasizes patient- and family-centered, culturally safe care, using Indigenous ways of knowing and trauma-informed practices.
The position includes triaging inquiries, supporting referrals, data management, and cross-team information coordination to ensure timely leadership communication.
This position reports to the Shared Health Indigenous Health Manager and primarily provides program support to the Indigenous Health team at Health Sciences Centre. The Indigenous Health (IH) Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to Indigenous Health programs and services at Health Sciences Centre (HSC). This role contributes to the efficient delivery of patient and family centered, culturally safe and trauma informed care while upholding Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing. The Indigenous Health Administrative Assistant will also support daily operations through effective communication, data management, document preparation, and coordination of information across internal teams and external partners.
The position is responsible for triaging inquiries from patients, visitors, staff, and partners. The IH Administrative Assistant is integral in supporting the referral process, facilitating communication with external agencies, and ensuring timely information flow to program leadership.
This position contributes to building a culturally safe, respectful and trauma-informed workplace, while upholding Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing, as well as recognizing the impacts of intergenerational trauma and inequities in access to health for Indigenous peoples.
