The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN) Education Team seeks an Indigenous Education Enhancement Worker (IEEW) to support K4–Grade 12 students across SD27, FN schools, and Independent with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy development.
The role collaborates with Education Assistants, counselors, teachers, and Indigenous Support Workers to foster student success while respecting Indigenous culture and traditions.
The Williams Lake First Nation (WLFN), or the T’exelcemc (people of WLFN) have belonged to the Secwepemc (or Shuswap) Nation for over 6500 years. Today, the WLFN community includes a growing population of over 800 registered members who live on reserve in Sugar Cane, in nearby Williams Lake, BC, and across the globe. As part of the Education Team, the Indigenous Education Enhancement Worker (IEEW) supports WLFN students from K4 to Grade 12 within SD27, FN schools, and Independent with the goal of enhancing student success and overall educational experience. The IEEW demonstrates strong organizational skills, professionalism, and the ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities while working collaboratively as part of a team and respecting Indigenous culture, values, and traditions.
This position focuses on supporting WLFN students in K4 to Grade 6 with a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy development. For Grades 7 to 12 WLFN students, the role centers on academic enhancement, student success, personal growth, and career planning. The IEEW walks alongside youth, fostering a safe and supportive environment where students can be their authentic selves. The position works closely with Education Assistants, school counsellors, teachers, and Indigenous Support Workers to ensure students receive the guidance and support needed to thrive both academically and personally. The Indigenous Education Enhancement Worker will be reporting to Education Coordinator.
Permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week.
3 months from the date of hire.
Non-exempt.
