Job summary

Pomerleau, a national leader in construction, seeks a Community Engagement Specialist for the WAHA Redevelopment Project in Ontario. You will support engagement activities with Indigenous communities, stakeholders, and project partners, and help implement the Indigenous Participation Plan while monitoring social impact metrics.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, collaboration with IR teams, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in social sciences, community development or policy related fields.
• 5+ years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder management, or impact assessment.
• Experience facilitating workshops or training is an asset.
• Strong communication and relationship management abilities.
• Experience in remote locations or with Indigenous communities is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and execution of community engagement activities under the Indigenous Participation Plan.
• Monitor campaign performance and generate insights for project planning.
• Identify social risks and develop mitigation plans for contracts.
• Develop socio-economic baselines and community profiles.
• Collaborate with Indigenous Relations and partners to meet contractual obligations.
• Prepare project materials and maintain records of engagement activities.
• Cultivate opportunities for stakeholder engagement while respecting cultural observances.
