Job summary

Native Counselling Services of Alberta is seeking individuals to work casual or part-time within our housing support programs. The role focuses on safety, resident support, and collaboration with staff to maintain a secure environment.

Ideal candidates possess deep knowledge of Indigenous communities and healing traditions, strong time management, and the ability to engage with residents with empathy while maintaining boundaries and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• In-depth experience and working knowledge of Indigenous communities, cultures, healing and language.
• Understanding of historic trauma and impacts of colonization.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize for safety.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security functions to ensure safety of residents and community.
• Support individuals in their self-growth in a safe environment.
• Assist residents with case plans and advocate when necessary.
• Work the 4:00 pm – 12:00 am shift, Saturday and Sunday (Weekend Evenings), or 12:00 am – 8:00 am shift, Friday and Saturday (Weekend Overnights).
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries; work as part of a team.
