Job summary

Bird is seeking a Fleet Manager in Cranbrook, BC. This is an independent contractor role managing the local fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, ensuring availability, charging, and safe operation to meet community transit needs.

You will own or access a large vehicle, maintain equipment, and coordinate with drivers. The role offers revenue sharing tied to fleet output; candidates should be flexible, tech-savvy, and able to work weekends.

Qualifications

• Must own or have access to a large vehicle (van/truck) for transporting scooters/bikes.
• Garage or storage space with electricity is highly preferred for charging.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly; able to stand for long periods.
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
• Tech-savvy and comfortable with mobile fleet tools.
• Local Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Penticton's local geography.

Responsibilities

• Fleet Transportation: Use your vehicle(s) to collect, deploy, relocate, and retrieve e-scooters and e-bikes daily.
• Fleet Maintenance: Ensure timely repair and maintenance of e-scooters and e-bikes to uphold safety.
• Operational Management: Manage the end-to-end operation of your assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high-demand areas.
• Field Execution: Problem-solve in real-time to overcome obstacles and optimize routes.
