Fraser Direct in Acton, Ontario is seeking an Inbound Specialist for afternoons (full-time, permanent). Core hours: Mon-Thu 2:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m., Fri 2:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m.; location: 52 Futura Drive.

You will receive inbound shipments safely and accurately, verify quantities, and prepare them for put-away. The role requires attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work with RF handheld scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Qualifications

Inbound Specialist, Afternoons – Full-time, Permanent – Acton, ON

Full-Time, Permanent | Monday-Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Friday 2:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. | Acton, Ontario

Our warehouse is a busy operation. Getting inbound receiving right is an important part of keeping everything moving.

As our Afternoon Inbound Specialist, you'll be responsible for receiving inbound shipments safely, accurately, and on time. You'll make sure products are checked, entered correctly, documented properly, and ready for the next step.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who pays attention to the details, takes pride in their work, and doesn't wait for someone else to solve a problem.

You'll work closely with the Warehouse Operations teams, helping keep priorities clear and making sure issues are identified and dealt with before they become bigger problems.

What You’ll Do
Receive shipments accurately and safely
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and efficiently using pump trucks, walkies, forklifts, or manual handling as required.
  • Inspect trailers before unloading and report any safety, sanitation, or other concerns.
  • Verify shipment quantities against bills of lading and accurately document receipts.
  • Check cartons against packing lists or purchase orders and identify shortages, damage, discrepancies, late arrivals, or missing paperwork.
  • Follow client‑specific receiving requirements, including quality checks, sampling, quarantine, and other inventory controls.
  • Maintain product security in accordance with PIP guidelines.
Get the details right
  • Enter product information accurately into our RF system, including product numbers, quantities, expiry dates, lot numbers, and other required information.
  • Check that pallets are safe and suitable for put‑away, including pallet condition, carton structure, weight distribution, and overall stability.
  • Prepare received pallets for put‑away and assist with put‑away when needed.
  • Catch errors or potential issues early and take action before they affect inventory, service, or another part of the operation.
  • Follow established processes and client requirements consistently.
Keep inbound work moving
  • Organize inbound work according to established priorities and timelines.
  • Escalate discrepancies, delays, damaged product, quality concerns, and other issues promptly.
  • Keep others informed when something could affect the flow of work.
  • Look for practical ways to improve efficiency, accuracy, and workflow.
Be part of a safe, reliable operation
  • Follow all company, client, and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions where possible and report concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
  • Safely lift and handle cartons and sort or rebuild pallets as required.
  • Take on other warehouse duties and projects as needed.

  • Have 2+ years of warehouse experience.
  • Have experience using RF handheld scanners and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Are comfortable working with detailed shipment, product, and inventory information.
  • Notice when something doesn't look right and take the initiative to investigate it.
  • Can work independently without needing to be reminded what needs to be done.
  • Know when to ask questions or involve someone else when an issue needs to be escalated.
  • Can manage competing priorities and keep work moving during busy periods.
  • Follow processes carefully while also looking for practical ways to make things better.
  • Communicate respectfully and clearly with coworkers and other teams.
  • Take safety seriously and understand that doing the job right includes doing it safely.
Experience That’s an Asset
  • Have experience in third-party logistics or a similar fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Have experience operating a counterbalance forklift and/or walkie.

    • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physical tasks continuously throughout the shift
    • Operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, and RF scanner
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (23 kg) regularly throughout the shift
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required
  • Availability Full-time, year round
