Job summary

The University of Ottawa invites applications for Teaching Assistant positions for the Winter 2027 semester in the Faculty of Social Sciences. Two roles are available for the course Social Sciences and Changing Societies (SCS2160) at Main Campus, in person.

Responsibilities include discussion groups, marking, office hours, and proctoring exams. Rates are $33.83–$53.31 CAD per hour, with undergraduate staff paid at the lower rate and graduate students at the higher rate.

Qualifications

• Priority will be given to candidates in accordance with articles 18.5 and 18.6.
• Course will be taught in English; language requirements apply.
• In-person delivery on Main Campus is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussion groups with students.
• Mark papers and exams.
• Provide office hours to meet with students.
• Proctor exams.
• Attend lectures if requested.
