Brookes Westshore School Society uses the International Baccalaureate as its platform for learning. We are currently looking for an upbeat and energetic individual who has experience tutoring Spanish Literature to high school students of different ages and cultures in a dynamic working environment after school.

Subject
  • High School Spanish literature and IB Diploma Programme Self-taught Spanish Literature
  • ELA
Duties
  • Provide one-on-one in-person sessions with high school students
  • Assess and adapt sessions to the students\' strengths, weaknesses and learning style to develop learning strategies
  • Monitor progress and adjust sessions as necessary
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that promotes learning
  • Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, attendance and notes
  • Communicate regularly with Coordinator on the progress of the students
Qualifications and Experience
  • 1-2 years experience teaching, tutoring or working with students
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Must pass and maintain a clear criminal record check for the purposes of working with vulnerable children
  • A Bachelor of Education and BC teaching Certificate an asset
  • Experience and familiarity with the BC Curriculum
  • Able to communicate with students progress in a timely manner
  • Professional, punctual and responsible

Compensation

$45.00-$60.00/hr dependent on experience, education and number of students. Hours and days are dependent on needs of students.
