What You Will Do

• General legal matters: Owned and leased Property, Regulatory and legislated matters and compliance, Trademarks, Licensing process and compliance, Contract negotiation, review and ongoing compliance, etc.
• Corporate Policies: Work with HR on policies procedures, Health and safety and employee relations issues
• Deployment of new regulatory and legislative matters
• Best practice on Data security, including SOC II and Privacy, and adherence to changing legal requirements
• Risk Management
• Business Continuity Management
• Privacy Officer
• Compliance Officer
• Management of the Whistle blower Channel
• Annual Business Risk Assessment Process and ongoing reporting
• Maintaining and Managing the Group P&C Insurance Coverage matters
• Policy Renewal
• Claims
• E & O Reporting and oversight
• Due diligence and M&A activities as required

What You Will Bring

• You’re a certified professional. The successful candidate must have been called to the Bar in Ontario.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house)
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
• Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution-oriented approach
• Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts
• Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests
