What You Will Do
CGL and Affiliates
- Handle general legal matters including owned and leased property, regulatory compliance, trademarks, licensing, contract negotiation, review, and ongoing compliance.
- Develop and oversee corporate policies in collaboration with HR on procedures, health and safety, and employee relations, including deployment of new regulations and best practices on data security, SOC II, and privacy.
- Manage risk through business continuity, privacy, compliance, whistleblower channels, and annual risk assessments.
- Maintain and manage Group P&C insurance coverage, including policy renewal, claims, and E&O reporting.
- Conduct due diligence and M&A activities as required.
What You Will Bring
- Must be a qualified lawyer called to the Bar in Ontario with a minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, either in law firms or in-house.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, legal drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail and collaborate effectively.
- Values alignment with respect, integrity, client-focus, collaboration, and accountability.
