Job summary

Ruth & Naomi's Mission is seeking an Employment Program Coach in Chilliwack, BC. The role supports individuals facing barriers to employment, guiding them through hands-on placements at Ruth's Coffee, the Street Team, and community projects.

This full-time position offers meaningful work and opportunities to build confidence and skills. You'll mentor participants, coordinate activities, and help learners progress toward sustainable employment while maintaining a supportive, trauma-informed

Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals experiencing barriers to employment.
  • Experience supporting individuals facing homelessness, poverty, addiction, or mental health challenges.
  • Coaching, mentoring, employment support, or vocational rehabilitation experience.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence; willingness to obtain First Aid, Naloxone, and De-escalation Training.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and mentor participants as they develop workplace skills and employment readiness.
  • Help participants gain hands-on experience through Ruth's Coffee, Street Team, and other placements.
  • Coordinate Street Team activities, schedules, and daily logistics.
  • Supervise participants during community-based work experiences.
  • Build positive relationships with participants, staff, businesses, and community partners.
  • Support employment readiness workshops and participant development.
  • Monitor participant progress and maintain documentation.
  • Foster a safe, respectful, trauma-informed learning environment.
