Job summary

Food for the Hungry Canada is seeking a Program Quality and Impact Advisor to lead MEAL, gender equality, and program quality across international efforts. You will design tools and systems, mentor teams, and promote community-led approaches while aligning with FH Canada's mission.

You will report to the VP of International Programs and guide implementation, data translation, and capacity building across partners, with remote-first collaboration and periodic in-person summits.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in International Development, Gender Studies, Public Health, or a related technical field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in international development, with significant focus on program quality, human-centred design, MEAL, and/or gender equality.
  • Experience applying participatory or community-led program approaches, including community-based data collection and community accountability mechanisms.
  • Experience designing and building new processes, tools, and systems from the ground up, translating strategy into practical frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Canadian charitable regulations and institutional donor requirements (e.g., Global Affairs Canada) is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including clear technical reports and workshop facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Program Quality & Technical Leadership: advise on program quality and design; build MEAL systems grounded in ethical data practices; champion community-led approaches.
  • Knowledge Translation & Resource Mobilization: translate findings into insights; lead development of institutional grant proposals, including GAC theories of change and results frameworks.
  • Learning & External Engagement: drive thought leadership and inter-partner learning; stay current on best practices in international development, MEAL, and gender equality.
  • Culture & Collaboration: promote FH Canada's values, support a remote-first culture, and model community-centered programming.
