Job summary

Vital Bio is seeking a detail-oriented scientist to lead immunoassay development efforts in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team in Ontario. You will design and analyze experiments, troubleshoot assays, and help transfer technologies while ensuring compliance with cGMP and ISO 13485 standards.

The ideal candidate holds a life sciences degree with 4+ years of lab experience, strong ELISA and lateral flow knowledge, and excellent data interpretation and documentation skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree in life sciences with hands-on immunoassay experience.
  • Experience with ELISA and lateral flow formats is required.
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and independently analyze experiments for immunoassay development, integration, and validation.
  • Document experimental results clearly and present data at internal meetings and project reviews.
  • Troubleshoot assay performance issues and contribute to continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Operate, maintain, and help optimize laboratory instrumentation such as plate readers, liquid handlers, and other relevant tools.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, assay workflows, and technology transfer activities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and quality guidelines to support compliance with regulatory standards such as cGMP and ISO 13485.
  • Support lab organization, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, and supply tracking.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical, regulatory, engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to support project timelines and deliverables.
  • Help drive experimental planning, data interpretation, and decision-making for assay development programs.
  • Adhere to company guidelines on code of conduct and lab safety practices to maintain an organized and compliant laboratory environment.
