Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is looking for a Senior Finance Consultant for a 3-month contract in Toronto, Canada. The role involves supporting the documentation and enhancement of internal controls over financial reporting as per IFRS standards. The successful candidate will have over 5 years of experience in financial control and hold a relevant degree. This position offers a pay rate of $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial control, internal audit, or accounting within a publicly traded or regulated company.
• Proven experience with ICFR implementation, documentation, and testing under IFRS reporting standards.
• Deep understanding of internal control frameworks such as COSO (2013) or COBIT.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of key financial reporting processes.
• Ensure design and operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Identify and evaluate key financial reporting risks and recommend actions.
• Support or perform control testing and evaluate results.
• Collaborate with process owners to optimize financial processes.
• Serve as a liaison for ICFR related documentation.
• Assist in drafting and updating accounting policies.
• Provide training on ICFR principles and control documentation.
