Job description

An IBM Maximo Architect plays a crucial role in leading the design, architecture, and delivery of scalable asset management solutions that optimize maintenance operations, inventory, and supply chain lifecycles for our clients.

Job Responsibilities

• Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the end-to-end technical and functional architecture for IBM Maximo suite implementations, ensuring solutions meet business requirements while adhering to industry best practices and incorporating trends like AI into the solution design, development and delivery process.
• Migration Strategy & Execution: Drive the roadmap and execution for clients upgrading from Maximo v7.x or other versions to the latest Maximo Application Suite (MAS 9) on Red Hat OpenShift.
• Integration Leadership: Design complex integrations between Maximo and external enterprise systems (ERP, Finance, Field Sales or Service systems, WFM) using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), REST APIs, and Kafka.
• Configuration vs. Customization: Guide clients on minimizing customization by leveraging out-of-the-box functionality, Automation Scripts, and Workflows to ensure easier future upgrades.
• Functional Domain Expertise: Maintain and share expertise in 2 or more industries served by Maximo such as Industrials (Energy or Utilities), Transportation & Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Universities.
• Technical Governance: Conduct code reviews, enforce development standards, and mentor technical teams on Java, Python/Jython scripting, and database optimization.
• Client Consultation: Facilitate technical and functional workshops with stakeholders to translate complex operational needs into technical specifications and solution blueprints.
• Asset Management and AI evangelist: Be a thought leader in the Asset Management and IBM Maximo space by frequently upskilling on MAS releases, AI advancements, etc. and sharing expertise on LinkedIn, webinars, and other forums or formats as possible.
• Performance Optimization: Troubleshoot and resolve high-level architectural issues related to system performance, database tuning, and mobile connectivity.
• Sales, Pre-Sales & Marketing Support: Assist the Sales and Management teams by participating in sales cycles by providing estimates, responding to RFP/RFIs, creating and maintaining demos, preparing or reviewing marketing collateral such as brochures & case studies.

Additional Responsibilities for Practice Director role:

• Play a significant Sales role for Perfaware’s Maximo practice by participating in sales cycles by providing estimates, responding to RFP/RFIs, creating and maintaining demos, preparing or reviewing marketing collateral such as brochures & case studies, attending events like MaximoUserGroups, MaximoWorld for networking and business development.
• Be a thought leader in the IBM Maximo community by publishing content online or speaking in User Groups/Industry events/webinars.
• Lead marketing efforts for Perfaware’s Maximo practice by ideating and crafting blog articles and collaterals such as flyers, brochures, case studies, website pages.
• Strategize and identify roles to hire for vs subcontract and spearhead hiring efforts for all Maximo consultants worldwide as business needs change.
• Manage staffing of Maximo projects to meet company utilization and profitability goals.

Required Experience

• Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in IBM Maximo Asset Management across 2 or more industry verticals, with at least 3 years in a Lead Architect or Solution Architect role.
• Maximo Application Suite (MAS): Demonstrated knowledge or hands-on experience with MAS 7-9X installation, configuration, and the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, PL/SQL, XML, and Maximo Automation Scripting (Jython/Python).
• Integration Framework: Deep understanding of the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF), including Object Structures, Enterprise Services, Publish Channels, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).
• Database Skills: Proficiency with enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2), including complex query writing and performance tuning.
• Full Lifecycle Implementation: Proven track record of leading at least 2-3 full lifecycle Maximo implementations.

Preferred Skills

• Cloud & Containerization: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or Azure/AWS cloud infrastructure hosting Maximo.
• Industry Focus: Experience with Asset Management in multiple Industrials (Utilities, Energy), Warehousing, Logistics, Retail Distribution, Transportation/Logistics or Manufacturing environments.
• Mobility: Experience implementing mobile solutions such as Maximo Mobile or IBM Maximo Anywhere.
• Certifications: IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Maximo Asset Management (v7.6 or v8 required, v9 preferred).
• Agile Methodology: Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models and using tools like Jira or Confluence.
