Job summary

Southpointe Academy in Delta, BC, invites applications for an energetic, collaborative teacher for a Grade 2 classroom. The role may include responsibilities across K–Grade 5, with start August 27, 2026 and end June 25, 2027.

Reporting to the Junior School Principal, you will design inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme, build caring relationships, and contribute to school life through co-curricular activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
• BC Ministry of Education: Certificate of Qualification.
• Preference for 1–2 years of teaching experience and PYP experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and support an inquiry-based, transdisciplinary learning programme aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme.
• Build caring relationships with students and families, and foster partnership in learning.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment promoting wellbeing, voice, and mutual respect.
• Integrate age-appropriate technology to enhance teaching and engagement.
• Participate in ongoing professional learning related to IB and school initiatives.
• Deliver meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity and authentic engagement.
• Assess learner progress with timely feedback and maintain records for reporting.
