Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced design/draughting professional in Mississauga to support instrumentation and construction projects. You will update 3D modelling platforms, prepare P&IDs and installation details, and coordinate with electrical, architectural and regulatory teams to ensure design integrity across nuclear and conventional systems.

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 3 years in I&C and mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge of REVIT is a must.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, MicroStation, NavisWorks Freedom and SolidWorks is expected.
• ASME Code knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or update 3D modelling platforms for instruments, field devices, and instrument racks.
• Prepare and assist in development of P&IDs, installation details, and instrument rack drawings using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Plant P&ID.
• Identify interferences and clashes with other design and modelling activities.
• Develop designs and specifications for control systems, HVAC, boilers, and related systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, architectural teams and authorities.
• Prepare engineering deliverables for nuclear and conventional systems per QA programs.
• Follow client file management and document storage processes.
• Interface with engineering teams throughout the design lifecycle to provide practical solutions.

Your role

Duties

• Prepare and/or update existing 3D modelling platforms associated with instruments, field devices, instrument racks.
• Prepare and assist in development of P&IDs, instrumentation installation details, instrument rack drawings using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Plant P&ID platforms.
• Assiss in identifying interferences and clashes with other design and modelling activities.
• Assist in developing designs and technical specifications for systems such as control system drawings, Heating, Air conditioning, Ventilation, boilers, chilled water, along with other related systems.
• Assisting others in the office with several projects – a knowledge sharing atmosphere.
• Coordinating system requirements with the electrical department, architects, relevant authorities.
• Assist in developing feasibility studies and technical reports.
• Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or Microstation; Sketching, and three-dimensional computer modeling.
• Follow client driven file management system for document storage.
• Prepare engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements.
• Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with design team to ensure the compliances.
• Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements.

About You

• College diploma or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 3 years in I&C and mechanical design and drafting.
• Working knowledge of REVIT is a must.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Raster Design, Revit, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Micro Station, NavisWorks Freedom and SolidWorks.
• ASME Code knowledge considered an asset.
• Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently.
• Must be "Team" oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with other and promote a positive work environment.
