Job summary

Cyclic Materials seeks a Research Metallurgist - Hydrometallurgy to design and execute R&D programs that enhance the inhouse processing of rare earth elements and expand capabilities.

You will conduct bench-scale and pilot-scale tests, analyze data, and translate results into practical improvements for commercial operations, with up to 30% travel and close collaboration across lab, plant, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical/Chemical/Materials or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• 5+ years in hydrometallurgy, process development, or critical minerals recycling.
• Experience with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, XRF, titration and pH measurements.
• Ability to translate lab results into commercial process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, and optimize hydrometallurgical recovery circuits.
• Develop bench-scale and pilot-scale test plans with clear success criteria.
• Study Nd, Pr, Dy, Tb chemistry and impurity behavior.
• Analyze process parameters, yields, and product quality; prepare reports.
• Translate lab results to pilot plant guidance and SOP updates.
• Collaborate with plant metallurgists, engineers, and operators; communicate results.
