Job summary

Cineplex Inc. is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to design and deliver modern analytics solutions. You will craft Power BI reports, leverage Databricks, and integrate enterprise data sources to drive trusted insights.

This hybrid role requires 3 days in the Toronto office, with collaboration across business and technology teams. You will also apply Generative AI and Agentic AI tools to improve development, testing, and documentation, while ensuring governance and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of progressive experience delivering BI/analytics solutions in complex organizations.
• 3+ years of advanced Power BI development with semantic models, DAX, Power Query, Power BI Service, security and performance optimization.
• 2+ years of hands-on Databricks SQL with enterprise-scale data sets.
• Advanced SQL for complex analytical queries.
• Experience with data modelling, semantic layers, KPI development, data validation, and ETL/ELT concepts.
• Experience with migration of reports/data/analytics platforms including testing and stakeholder acceptance.
• Hands-on experience using Generative AI/Agentic AI tools to improve analytics processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Python/PySpark, Unity Catalog, Git, Azure DevOps or CI/CD is a plus.
• Certifications in Power BI, Fabric, Azure, or Databricks are a plus.
• Training/certification in data governance, analytics engineering, or AI is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver modern analytics solutions to enable data-informed decisions across Cineplex.
• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models.
• Optimize Databricks SQL, DAX, Power Query, and reporting solutions for performance and reliability.
• Lead modernization efforts with testing, validation, and stakeholder engagement.
• Investigate data issues, define metrics, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather requirements and ensure governance and adoption.
• Leverage Generative AI/Agentic AI tools to streamline analytics development and documentation.
