Job summary

Co-operators is seeking an Associate HR Services Specialist to serve as the first contact for internal and external clients, handling HR/Payroll inquiries with accuracy in a hybrid workplace.

Responsibilities include processing employee life cycle changes in HRIS, guiding stakeholders through payroll and HRIS procedures, and maintaining high service levels while ensuring confidentiality and compliance. Strong English is required; French is an asset.

Qualifications

• Business Diploma or post-secondary degree or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years’ experience within a Human Resources department, in HR/Payroll operations.
• Experience in a fast-paced service or Call Center operations environment preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation nationally.
• Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or CHRP designation (or actively working towards) is an asset.
• This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams outside Québec; English proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service with courtesy and etiquette for HR/Payroll needs.
• Advise clients on actions to meet their needs (e.g., Time & Attendance, HR consults).
• Provide frontline direction and support across Payroll and HRIS systems.
• Address routine and complex employee needs with urgency and ownership.
• Provide general inquiries support on benefits, pension, compensation, guidelines, and processes.
• Process employee life cycle changes accurately in HRIS and Time & Attendance.
• Document information in incident management databases with proper approvals.
