Job summary

ISL’s Calgary Community Development team is seeking an intermediate Civil Design Technologist with 5 to 7 years of experience to produce grading, stormwater and utility drawings for new communities and site developments.

You will work with engineers on design from due diligence through construction, on a hybrid schedule (three days in office, two from home) in Calgary, providing strong CAD drafting, model management and collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• 5 to 7 years of civil drafting or design experience, preferably in consulting.
• Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD, including 3D models/surfaces, corridors, grading and pipe networks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil drawings for community and private site development projects.
• Build and manage Civil 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors and pipe networks.
• Produce earthwork volume calculations and cut and fill analysis.
• Draft stormwater management drawings and sanitary/water distribution plans.
• Assemble complete drawing packages for municipal submissions and coordinate across disciplines.
• Share Civil 3D know‑how with junior drafters and improve templates.
