Join Our Team as a Hybrid Caretaker!
We are seeking a dependable and professional Hybrid Caretaker to join our team at a residential building in Downtown Vancouver (8 floors, 58 units). In this dynamic role, you will provide a combination of caretaker and janitorial services, respond promptly to client needs, and help ensure the smooth operation of daily activities.
Key duties & responsibilities
- Site Maintenance: Oversee and supervise the overall condition of the property, ensuring all areas are clean, functional, and well‑kept.
- Access & Security Management: Program and manage fobs and enterphone systems to maintain building security.
- Administrative Duties: Post building notices, send communications to residents, and collect funds as directed by management.
- Property Manager Liaison: Maintain regular communication with the Property Manager to address any issues, coordinate repairs, and ensure the building operates smoothly.
- Tenant Relations & Support: Respond promptly and courteously to tenant inquiries, concerns, and service requests.
- Exterior Grounds Maintenance: Perform daily litter pickup around the entire exterior of the building, including sidewalks, courtyards, and driveway ramps.
- Floor Care: Sweep and damp mop hard surface floors using a neutral cleaner to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Entrance, Lobby & Common Areas: Clean and disinfect door frames, handles, and entry code panels; polish surfaces as needed; vacuum walk‑off mats and maintain a welcoming appearance.
Requirements
- Flexibility and Availability: Ability to respond promptly to building and tenant needs.
- Experience: Proven background in janitorial, caretaker, and basic handyman work (e.g., minor repairs, fixture replacements, basic plumbing/electrical).
- Cleaning Skills: Strong understanding of proper cleaning techniques, equipment use, and chemical safety, especially in high‑traffic residential areas.
- Multitasking: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, especially during high‑pressure or time‑sensitive situations.
- Problem‑Solving and Organization: Strong ability to identify issues, offer practical solutions, and keep detailed records of tasks and maintenance.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office, scheduling software, and email for daily communications and reporting.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Friday
Shift Timings: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Salary: $21 per hour
- Hybrid Caretaker / Building Manager: 1 year (preferred)
- Janitorial: 1 year (preferred)
