Job summary

Orica invites a skilled Automation, Controls & Electronics Technologist/Engineer to join its Calgary team. You will support and improve control systems across North America facilities, working with PLCs, DCS, SIS, and instrumentation in a hybrid role with travel up to 50%.

You will collaborate with global experts to advance automation capabilities and contribute to reliability and safety across complex industrial environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, or related manufacturing technologies.
• Experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, DCS, and industrial instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain industrial control, automation, instrumentation, and electronic systems across multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, instrumentation, networking, and control system issues.
• Support PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, and related automation platforms.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize field devices including sensors, transmitters, analyzers, actuators, and control panels.
• Lead or support MOC activities involving automation, instrumentation, and control systems.
