Job summary

McGovern Hurley LLP in North York offers a hybrid work model with two in-office days per week. We seek a CPA-designated audit professional with 4–6 years of public accounting experience to lead end-to-end engagements and mentor junior staff.

You will collaborate with Partners on risk-based engagement plans, stay current on IFRS and CAS, manage client relationships, and contribute to firm growth while upholding integrity and quality. This is based in Ontario, Toronto area.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in good standing with CPA Ontario.
• 4–6 years of public accounting experience.
• Lead complex audit engagements from planning to completion.
• Strong IFRS and CAS expertise and application.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end audit engagements across a diverse client portfolio, including financial statements, disclosures, and other key deliverables.
• Deliver high-quality work and exceptional client service by proactively anticipating client needs and escalating issues when necessary.
• Collaborate with Engagement Partners to develop and execute a risk-based engagement approach and plan.
• Prepare key audit deliverables, such as board communications, deficiency letters, and management letters.
• Review workpapers, financial statements, and reports prepared by junior staff, ensuring audit quality, productivity, and adherence to budgets and timelines.
• Lead, mentor, and develop audit teams and junior auditors as part of McGovern Hurley’s Coaching Program.
• Stay abreast of evolving accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
• Drive McGovern Hurley’s growth through strong client relationship management and business development initiatives.
