eBay is seeking an Applied Researcher 3/Senior Researcher in Toronto for our Global Focus Categories Applied Science team. You will develop computer vision and multimodal AI solutions and deploy models at scale, collaborating with product and engineering to drive impact.

You will help shape technical direction, mentor teammates, and translate business opportunities into robust technical roadmaps, pushing state-of-the-art in visual understanding for a global marketplace.

Formación

• PhD or MS in CS/ML or related with focus on vision or multimodal AI.
• 3+ years building CV/multimodal systems for large-scale applications.
• Production pipelines: training, eval, inference and integration.
• Experience with visual-language models and foundation-models.
• Proficient in Python and ML frameworks; strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and deploy visual and multimodal ML models for large-scale applications.
• Design end-to-end training and inference pipelines in production.
• Advance vision and multimodal capabilities including detection, segmentation, and LLM alignment.
• Lead research initiatives and mentor team members.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and design to translate opportunities into roadmaps.
• Communicate trade-offs and results to senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to a strong research and engineering culture.
