Job Summary

The Human Rights Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Rights and Business Ethics team, ensuring efficient tracking, reporting, and managing key processes.

This role supports the function meeting compliance and internal control standards by ensuring the effective and efficient execution of processes, maintenance and organization of documents as well as timely communication across the team’s activities. It supports the team in the administration and delivery of various programs and policies.

Major Responsibilities
  1. Provide coordination and administration for various programs and processes delivered by the human rights team.

    • Maintaining organized filing systems and managing filing of confidential documentation in accordance with compliance and audit control obligations.
    • Coordinating logistics for various meetings including trainings, workplace restoration sessions, and mediation and providing event management support for inclusion initiatives and programs.
    • Supporting the development and administration of statements of work and contracts.
    • Assisting with data collection and reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Preparing excel spreadsheets, consolidating data, ensuring data accuracy, preparing and editing PowerPoint presentations, drafting correspondence, and preparing briefing summaries as required.
    • Maintaining dashboards and databases for tracking diversity demographic metrics.
    • Managing the team inbox and coordinating responses to inquiries and complaints.
  2. Assist the application of various processes, procedures, programs and guidelines by:

    • Tracking and reporting on investigations, complaints, and conflict of interest declarations.
    • Supporting the preparation of materials and facilitating approval processes following conclusions of Human Rights investigations.
    • Managing the end‑to‑end process for conflict‑of‑interest declarations and mitigation plans.
    • Resolving established routine queries.
    • Managing annual COBE attestation and Diversity Dimensions completion process.
    • Preparing quarterly COBE compliance reporting and data reconciliation.
  3. Provide process improvement support and stakeholder management:

    • Supporting the development of internal knowledge hubs and digital resources.
    • Liaising with vendors and consultants to manage contracts and service agreements.
  4. Proactively identify process inefficiencies and inconsistencies and collaborate toward an improved and more productive process that will enhance the overall client experience.

Job Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in an administrative role in Human Resources, Legal or Compliance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Equity Act, Public Service of Ontario Act.
  • Strong command of MS Office and data analytics in Excel.
  • Experience in managing virtual and in‑person event logistics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
