As a Human Resources People Partner (HRPP), reporting to Canada’s Head of HR, you will play a key generalist role in supporting the business and delivering exceptional service to employees. Acting as a strategic liaison between Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards Operations, Talent Development, and People Managers across Sales and Retail Excellence teams, you’ll ensure seamless execution of employee programs throughout the full employee lifecycle. With a focus on HR administration, engagement and culture, and development and communication, the HRPP helps drive employee engagement, uphold HR policies, and foster a strong company culture.

We are seeking candidates based in Edmonton, AB working in a remote capacity with potential to travel to locations across our store network throughout Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic HR Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to assigned business areas, providing guidance on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and compliance.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end employee experience, including pre-boarding, onboarding, and off-boarding, ensuring a seamless and engaging process.
  • Culture & Engagement: Champion initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, support employee engagement, and promote open communication through programs and feedback channels.
  • HR Operations & Administration: Maintain accurate HRIS data, manage headcount processes, coordinate immigration process, generate HR reports, and ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
  • Talent Development & Communication: Support employee development programs, performance reviews, and internal communications to drive growth and alignment with company values.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process gaps, implement best practices, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of HR programs and employee services.
Qualifications in this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Human Resources Management, preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in a Human Resources People Partner, Business Partner, or similar HR generalist role with a strong focus on confidentiality and customer service.
  • Proven experience with full-cycle talent acquisition, including recruiting, interviewing, and offer processes.
  • Working knowledge of HR principles, practices, and HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with Canadian provincial employment legislation, particularly in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and administrative tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or equivalent HR certification.
  • Experience supporting HR programs such as performance management, employee engagement, training, and internal communications.
  • Comfort with conflict resolution and conducting difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and driving positive change.
  • Experience acting as a culture champion and change agent within a dynamic organization.
