Human Resources Manager – Lambeth (London)

As the HR Manager, you will report to the VP - HR, Canada, and will be a key member of the Lambeth Plant management team. In this generalist role, you are the sole HR practitioner for the Lambeth Plant. You will lead efforts in a unionized environment related to employee relations, recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and benefits administration.

What We Want From You
  • Establish strong cross-functional relationships and provide coaching to management team regarding performance management, recruitment, compensation, and training/development.
  • Lead the strategic execution of labour relations; grievance resolution, effective partnership with union representatives, and collective bargaining.
  • Be the key point of contact and lead investigator for issues related to employee interactions, discipline, and workplace investigations. Effectively communicate with outside legal representatives or enforcement agencies related to any legal claims or complaints.
  • Benefit administration, including enrolment and maintenance of employee data and reports.
  • Pension administration, including enrolments and terminations, reports, and maintenance of membership data.
  • Manage all short-term disability and workers’ compensation claims, ensuring claim eligibility, successful and early returns to work, compliance and communication with the agencies involved.
  • Develop and initiate projects for employee engagement, job satisfaction, and retention.
  • Lead end-to-end talent management processes, including workforce planning, talent development, training and development initiatives, and performance management.
  • Understand and execute staffing level requirements to meet organizational objectives.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment; develop and maintain detailed and accurate job descriptions to attract top talent, conduct effective interviews, lead engaging onboarding to assist retention efforts.
  • HR systems administration through ADP’s Workforce Now; create and maintain accurate employee records, ensure compliance with time and attendance processes, etc.
  • Collaborate with Payroll Manager to ensure accurate processing of payroll.
  • Apply knowledge of all applicable laws and statutory requirements to ensure full compliance for both company and employees alike.
  • Contribute to the development and enforcement of company policies, practices, and other requirements that support company business objectives.
