Position Overview

Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with an organization in their search for a Human Resources Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned HR leader to take full ownership of the HR function in a highly collaborative and operationally driven environment. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in labour relations, a practical understanding of unionized workplaces, and the ability to operate both strategically and tactically as a solo HR leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of labour relations, including grievance management, contract interpretation, and collective agreement administration.
  • Act as the key HR point of contact for employees, supporting both unionized and non-unionized teams.
  • Provide daily HR support and guidance across multiple departments.
  • Navigate union dynamics effectively while maintaining positive relationships and ensuring fair outcomes.
  • Oversee disability claims, employee inquiries, and policy adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with Manitoba labour laws and employment standards.
  • Support leaders with employee relations matters and advise on best practices.
  • Understand and engage with all business functions to ensure alignment between HR and operational needs.
Requirements
  • Must bring a minimum 5+ years of progressive HR experience with a focus on labour relations and unionized environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Manitoba employment legislation and collective bargaining processes.
  • Experience managing HR independently in a fast-paced, multi-department setting.
  • CPHR designation preferred or demonstrated equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and professional judgment skills.
  • Willingness to work fully on-site (no hybrid or remote flexibility).
