Makivik Corporation seeks a Human Resource Manager to oversee HR practices and enhance business objectives in a positive work environment. The successful candidate will manage various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws. This permanent, full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and requires a bachelor's degree along with at least five years of related experience.
Reports to:The Director of Human Resources and Payroll in the Treasurer’s Department
Status of Employment:Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities:
The Human Resource Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. You will be responsible for managing employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and organizational development. The goal is to ensure the company’s HR initiatives support and enhance business objectives while fostering a positive and compliant work environment. Responsible for working with partners to develop and implement Makivvik's Inuit culture and language policies, action plans, and play a central role in supporting the promotion of Inuktitut;
§ Be available to travel, as requested;
§ Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifcations:
§ Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or a related field;
§ Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a related field;
§ Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
§ Great computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
§ Inuit, traditions and cultural knowledge and understanding, is required;
§ Strong knowledge of HR practices, laws, and regulations;
§ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills;
§ Proficiency in HR software (e.g., Bamboo, Dayforce);
§ Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information;
§ Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities;
§ Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
