JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources Manager supports The Community Blood Center’s (CBC) strategic objectives and HR requirements by developing human resources policies and programs and leading the staff in managing and implementing programs that support team member engagement, productivity, and company objectives. Leads key HR functions, including recruiting, team member relations, health and wellness, compensation, benefits administration, training, diversity, payroll, performance management and HR related investigations. Develops and delivers internal staff communications. Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services. Maintains team member records of pay, benefits, accidents, performance, and other activities and files reporting required to comply with labor laws and regulations. Collaborates and partners with organizational leaders on HR support and functions as well as special projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Provides counsel to CBC leaders on human resource matters and provides overall leadership to HR supporting functions and processes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of team member information at all times including personnel actions, legal actions, terminations, and organizational plans.
  • Oversees Human Resource Information Systems administrations to include user management, audit, document control and Human Resources activities to support payroll administration.
  • Oversees self-funded benefits administration to include change reporting, reconciling invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to team members.
  • Administers compensation program; to include wage and salary analysis; and monitoring of performance management program.
  • Administers the organization’s EEO-1 and Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Administer Workers Compensation (WC) regulatory requirements and team member WC benefits.
  • Communicates with CBC departments, team members, applicants, administrators, and staff to provide information and assistance regarding recruitment, transfer, employment personnel records, and legislation.
  • Conducts recruitment efforts for exempt and nonexempt positions; writing and placing advertisements; performs interviewing; reference background; and writes and delivers offer of employment. Oversee New Hire orientation and onboarding requirements.
  • Partners with team members and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, and government regulations.
  • Oversight of team member benefit enrollments and communication plans to provide important information and value of company sponsored benefit programs.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; and maintains team member handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to CBC Safety committee.
  • Works with department leaders to coordinate training and development of team members at all levels.
  • Maintains a current level of job-related skills by attending training sessions, seminars, conferences, and reading publications.
  • Counsel management toward appropriate resolution of team member relations issues.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulation concerning employment.

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management or related field.
  • 3+ years of previous HR Manager experience, leading a team in recruitment, team member relations, and benefit administration. Working knowledge of UKG Ready HRIS system is a plus.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources administration.
  • Effectively communicate and establish rapport with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize and accomplish objectives.
  • Experience in handling sensitive, confidential information.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to research and analyze various different types of data information.
