Come join our team of passionate and energetic individuals who are committed to serving our members and supporting our volunteers. The Human Resources Consultant provides up to 8 hours/week remotely and is required to be onsite in the Vancouver office for 2-4 hours each month.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Consultant provides advice on and administration of human resources practices for a 25-person team working at a not-for-profit association.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build strong relationships with the staff team to ensure positive interactions.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of new hires and work with senior management to continuously improve recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Provide strategic advice on employment relations, performance management, compensation and training.
  • Administer processes and maintain records for annual and periodic performance and compensation reviews.
  • Monitor and reconcile leave/absence records.
  • Collaborate with Director, Finance & Administration regarding annual benefits renewal.
  • Support end of employment processes including dismissal planning, exit interviews and documentation.
  • Participate in monthly management team and bi-weekly staff meetings when requested.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • At least five years of Human Resources consulting (or similar role) experience with multi-generational and diverse workplaces.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law in British Columbia.
  • Familiarity with MS Teams and Excel is an asset.
Salary Range
  • $85 - $110/hour based on experience and qualifications.
