A.S.P provides services to some of the largest airports in Canada and has a significant presence in the Commercial and Residential spaces in Ontario.

The HR Business Partner plays a pivotal role in driving a positive and compliant‑style culture by supporting the full employee lifecycle, fostering labour and employee relations, and ensuring adherence to the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Health & Safety regulations.

This position acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees and contributes to key HR projects that align with organizational goals.

What you will do:
  • Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires, including preparation of employment contracts and employee documentation.
  • Manage processes across the full employee lifecycle — onboarding, benefits, performance management, promotions, transfers, leaves, and departures.
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews to identify engagement trends and recommend improvements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and programs in areas such as recruitment, talent management, organizational performance, and culture.
  • Maintain HRIS accuracy and integrity; conduct audits and generate analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Act as a primary resource for employee and labour relations matters in both unionized and non‑union environments, including workplace investigations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary processes.
  • Coach and advise leaders on HR policies, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline.
  • Lead employee engagement and recognition programs that strengthen retention and morale.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation including ESA, Canada Labor Code, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, and related statutes.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure compliance with OHSA and internal safety programs; manage and track WSIB claims and facilitate the safe return‑to‑work process.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, training, and incident follow‑up.
  • Support workforce planning, organizational design, and change management activities.
  • Lead HR projects to improve operational efficiency and employee experience; track and report key HR metrics.
Who you are:
  • Post‑secondary education in Human Resources Management or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a generalist or business partner capacity.
  • Experience in unionized environments is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of ESA, Labour Relations Act, OHSA, WSIB, Human Rights Code, and related legislation.
  • CHRP / CHRL designation (or working toward) preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems.
  • Detail‑oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities with discretion.
  • Collaborative team player who also works effectively independently.
