Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, Western Canada, the primary focus of the Human Resources Business Partner is to act as a strategic advisor within the areas of Employee Relations, Employment Law, Employee Engagement, Communication, Change Management, and interpretation and communication of HR Policies.

Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with leaders at all levels to build a high-performance, people-focused culture that drives business results.
  2. Drive employee engagement initiatives, ensuring a focus on building a high-performing culture, a diverse and inclusive environment, and a great place to work.
  3. Assess gaps between business needs and people capabilities and drive appropriate actions.
  4. Facilitate talent review and succession planning processes, focusing on diversity and developmental plans for high-potential staff.
  5. Support performance counseling, employee retention, policy interpretation, human rights, and employment legislation.
  6. Coach, advise, and guide Supervisors and Managers across Western Canada on employee relations matters, including attendance management, policy violations, discipline, and termination.
  7. Lead investigations related to employee relations, ethics, and compliance.
  8. Understand priorities and challenges, engaging stakeholders to deliver comprehensive solutions.
  9. Proactively drive organization and team-level change/transformation initiatives.
  10. Interpret and communicate HR policies, ensuring consistent application, and provide support and coaching.
  11. Lead or participate in the development and implementation of global or regional HR projects as required.
Education and Experience:
  1. 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  2. 5+ years of experience in an internal/external client-facing capacity.
  3. High comfort level interacting across multiple organizational levels and with external partners.
  4. Strong communication skills.
  5. Experience in Employee Relations and Change Management preferred.
  6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
