The role of a HR Business Partner is both strategic and hands‑on. This role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing exceptional partnership, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment with one to two days in the office each week to support connection and teamwork

The successful applicant will be responsible for a full range of activities within their client group including:

  • Execute HR and talent management processes, encompassing organizational development, talent, leadership development, and coaching for leaders. This also includes overseeing HR fundamental programs like performance management, compensation, and employment relations in compliance with federal and provincial employment laws.

  • Act as the primary contact for leaders and employees in the designated client group, offering guidance, support, and redirection as needed regarding HR programs and processes.

  • Collaborate with employees and leaders to drive continuous improvement, shape strategic decisions, and support organizational priorities.

  • Pro‑actively analyze people‑related trends and issues and recommend actions based on market data research and previous experience.

  • Build credibility and relationships with leaders to drive business growth and align vision with HR strategy.

  • Work in partnership with the Talent Acquisition Partner to initiate workforce planning, define talent profiles, and recruit top‑tier talent.

  • Coach and equip leaders through practical, hands‑on leadership training that strengthens management capability, fosters accountability, and enhances employee engagement.

  • Offer expert support on sensitive employee relations matters, ensuring equitable treatment in areas such as performance management, discipline, disability, and development plans.

  • Identify skill gaps and create programs for training, career advancement, and performance improvement.

  • Demonstrate exceptional consultative and stakeholder management skills, making you a go‑to resource for delivering valuable insights, well‑grounded advice, and sound HR expertise.

  • Support professional development within the HR team through mentorship and knowledge sharing to enhance overall team capability.

  • Collaborate with the Montrose Corporate HR team to enhance programs, policies, practices, and processes related to strategic and operational employee matters within the organization.

What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in human resources, business, or related degree.

  • 7+ years of HR Business Partner experience in high‑growth environments.

  • Broad‑based, hands‑on HR experience, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, employment policies, employee relations, training, development, succession planning, and compliance with employment laws.

  • Capable of collaborating across functions to drive business objectives.

  • Effectively communicate with impact and credibility, showcasing strong collaboration skills, and the capacity to gauge employee engagement in geographically dispersed teams to maintain a high level of engagement.

  • Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and influencing stakeholders.

  • Experience providing leadership training and development programs that build management capability and confidence.

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize complex tasks and address urgent issues.

  • Demonstrated compassion, trust‑building, and timely follow‑up with employees.

  • Experience with Ontario employment legislation and workplace practices is considered an asset.

  • Previous experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel 10%–15% of the time.

  • Previous experience using Workday is an asset.
