GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
As a strategic partner in talent acquisition, this role drives the success of SaskTel’s workforce by delivering exceptional recruitment solutions tailored to diverse and evolving business needs. From managing high‑volume competitions to sourcing specialized talent, the position blends expertise with innovation to attract top‑tier candidates while championing equity and inclusion. Acting as a trusted advisor to client groups you will ensure compliance with corporate policies and employment regulations, while influencing hiring decisions that align with organizational goals and collective agreements. By leveraging best‑practice strategies, cutting‑edge recruitment tools, and market insights, this role not only fills positions efficiently but also strengthens SaskTel’s reputation as one of Saskatchewan’s Top Employers through proactive networking and community engagement.
Specific Accountabilities
- Accountable for hiring human resource talent in a timely manner through specialized and customized consultation throughout the recruitment process. This involves maintaining and prioritizing a diverse workload of positions including high volume competitions and external sourcing.
- Responsible for providing Human Resources expertise and consultation to all SaskTel client groups, SaskTel subsidiaries, and external resources.
- Maintain strong internal relationships with all SaskTel client groups by meeting and exceeding Talent Acquisition customer service standards.
- Accountable for strictly complying with all corporate policies and provincial regulations. This includes educating and providing consultation to hiring managers on these issues as needed during the hiring process.
- Accountable for developing, implementing, and maintaining Best Practice Recruitment Strategies that will significantly aid in the success of the short term and long-term hiring goals to meet the business goals of the department and the Corporation. This includes proactively sourcing qualified equity candidates for employment opportunities.
- Accountable for influencing all hiring decisions in order to meet and exceed SaskTel’s business goals, including corporate workforce representation, and collective agreement requirements.
- Responsible for researching, evaluating, and implementing highly effective recruitment tools and solutions to meet departmental hiring needs.
- Provides expert advice to employees and external applicants regarding employment opportunities and specific position requirements.
- Researches and adjusts business practices to reflect current and emerging recruitment trends and job market changes in order to attract qualified human resources.
- Responsible for consulting and acting as a liaison between departments, external agencies, and employees on workplace accommodations to ensure inclusive work environments.
- Continuously promotes SaskTel as the Employer of Choice within Saskatchewan. This includes developing and maintaining professional relationships with external organizations and educating the public through networking events and delivering employment presentations.
Qualifications
- Post‑secondary education in Business Administration (majoring in HR management) and/or a combination of 2 years related training and experience. CPHR designation an asset.
- Strong experience driving talent sourcing initiatives using a variety of tools such as social media, professional networks, and relationship management techniques.
- Knowledge of human resources best practices, employment laws and policies.
- Thorough knowledge of and experience in the area of diversity, employment equity and inclusion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain open and honest relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and provide accurate and timely information in a fast‑paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze issues and exercise judgment and initiative when responding to requests.
- High tolerance for ambiguity and stress.
- Strong computer literacy including proficiency with Microsoft products as well as database and internet applications.
- Experience leveraging AI tools and maintaining applicant tracking systems an asset.
- Proficient in public speaking and delivering presentations.

- Oversees financial activities within area of responsibility. Creates and/or monitors annual operating and capital budgets, keeping tabs on budget adherence, and taking necessary actions to address budget variances.
- Responsible for negotiation, execution and/or enforcement of contracts for obtaining goods and services related to the area of responsibility.
- Accountable for proactively identifying, inspiring, and acting on opportunities to innovate and drive process improvements, develop growth initiatives, and improve revenue and/or reduce costs. Driving valuable customer experiences and employee engagement, improving sustainability, and demonstrates commitment to the communities that we serve.
This is an on‑site position located at the location(s) above. The successful candidate must be located within the province of Saskatchewan. Out of province/country candidates must be willing to relocate. Flexible work opportunities, in province, may be available.
